Volume discounts

The more you order, the less you pay. Discounts apply automatically at checkout — there is no code to enter and no account to set up first.

Order value (inc VAT) Discount
£500 or more 5% off your order
£1,000 or more 10% off your order

Discounts are calculated on the order subtotal, and apply across the whole basket — mix bores, lengths, colours and formats to reach a threshold. Only one tier applies per order, and you always get the better of the two.

Pallet quantities

Ordering beyond the published tiers? Pallet pricing is quoted per enquiry, because the number depends on the line, the volume and how often you reorder. Send us the detail and you will have a firm price within one working day.

To get a quote back quickly, include:

  • Which straw — bore, length and format, or the case SKU if you have it
  • Volume — cases or straws per delivery, and how often you expect to reorder
  • Delivery — postcode, number of sites, and whether you need a tail lift
  • Your buyer category — so we can confirm eligibility in the same reply
  • PO requirements, if your accounts team needs them on the invoice
  • Custom print, if you want your own branding on the straws

Who can buy plastic straws in the UK?

Single-use plastic straws cannot be supplied to the general public in England, Scotland or Wales. We supply exempt buyers only. You will confirm you are buying for a business or organisation before checkout, and we keep that confirmation as a record of the supply.

Buyer category Notes
Businesses buying for resale Wholesalers, distributors and retailers purchasing to sell on within the rules.
Manufacturers Businesses using straws in the manufacture of another product.
Catering establishments Restaurants, pubs, bars, cafés, hotels, canteens, clubs and takeaways.
Care homes, schools, early years providers and prisons Named exempt establishments under the 2020 England Regulations.
Registered pharmacies May also sell plastic straws on to individuals.
Medical and health professionals Ordering for medical purposes.

Different rules apply in Scotland and Wales under their own regulations. If you need an unrestricted alternative, our paper straws are plastic-free and can be supplied to anyone.

Choosing the right bore

  • 6mm — the all-purpose catering bore. Soft drinks, juices, iced coffee, cordials, cocktails. If you stock one size, this is it.
  • 8mm — milkshakes, thinner smoothies, slush and blended iced drinks. Also the standard bore for spoon straws.
  • 9mm — thick milkshakes, smoothies and frappés. Passes fruit pulp and fits the straw slot on 80mm and 90mm dome lids.
  • 10mm — jumbo. Very thick shakes, slush with fruit pieces, bubble tea with smaller pearls.
  • 12mm — bubble tea and boba. Tapioca pearls will not pass through anything narrower.

Formats we stock

  • Flexible (bendy) — a concertina neck bends and holds position, so a drink can be taken without lifting or tilting the cup. The standard for care homes, hospital wards and day centres.
  • Individually wrapped — each straw sealed in its own sleeve, so they can sit openly on a counter or in a dispenser. Usual choice for hospitals, care settings and schools.
  • Spoon — a scoop moulded into one end for slush, floats and dessert drinks. Saves handing out a spoon with every serve.
  • Straight — cleaner look, lower cost per serve, higher pack density. The default for cans, cups and general service.

Lengths run from 200mm for standard 12oz to 16oz cups up to 260mm for 24oz-plus cups and sharing drinks. Colours include black, clear and mixed.
