Flexible straws for assisted drinking

A concertina neck bends to any angle and holds its position, so a resident can drink without lifting or tilting the cup. That matters when someone is propped up in bed or has limited arm movement, and it is the reason the flexible straw remains standard issue in care settings.

We stock two lengths: 200mm for standard beakers and cups, and 248mm for taller cups and jugs.

Individually wrapped straws can sit out on a counter or in a dispenser without a hygiene concern, which is why they are the usual choice for dining rooms, day centres and school canteens. The 9mm bore also handles thickened fluids and supplement drinks that a narrow straw will not pass.

Care homes are an exempt category under the single-use plastic straw rules, alongside schools and early years settings, registered pharmacies, hospitals and health professionals ordering for medical purposes. You will be asked to confirm you are buying for a business or organisation before checkout, and that confirmation is recorded against the order.
